11. Surprise Class - requires a team (2-riders & 2-horses)

 

**please note, we do have a time restraint for this show, we need to be completed by 9pm. Please be ready for all of your classes on time. Thank you!**

1.      Costume Class ~ Rider/driver must have a horse/pony and dress in some sort of costume.

2.      Open Driving ~ Open to any age exhibitor or size of horse/pony and driven on an appropriate two or four wheel cart or buggy. Will be asked to walk, trot and extended trot both directions of the arena and judged on overall performance.

3.      Lead Line (children 6yrs & under) ~ This class is designed for the beginner rider, who must ride their horse/pony around the arena while being assisted by another participant, the judge will pick the best horse and rider combination.

4.      Walk Trot (10 yrs & under) ~ This class is for the advanced beginner rider, they are required to ride without assistance, the rider must have their horse/pony walk and trot at the judge’s commands, the judge will pick the best horse and rider combination.

5.      Western Pleasure, Open ~ This class is for any age rider, who must have their horse walk, trot and canter at the judge’s commands, the judge will pick the best horse and rider combination.

6.      Open Egg & Spoon ~ Rider must carry a raw egg in a spoon while riding their horse/pony.  He/she cannot touch the egg and must follow the commands of the judge, last one with the egg still in the spoon wins.

7.      Bat Race ~ Each rider must ride to the other end of the arena, dismount, circle the bat with their forehead on the top of it a designated number of times, get back on their horse/pony and ride back across the finish line, fastest time wins.

8.      Pony Barrels (54” & under, 13 yrs & under) ~ Rider must ride their pony around the cloverleaf barrel pattern without tipping over any barrels, crossing their trail at each barrel, fastest time wins.

9.      Open Barrels ~ Any age rider must ride their horse around the cloverleaf barrel pattern without tipping over any barrels, crossing their trail at each barrel, fastest time wins.

10.  Egg Squash ~ Rider must ride their horse/pony to the egg that is on the ground on the other end of the arena. The rider will have their horse “squash” the egg with it’s foot. The rider cannot dismount or touch the egg. The yolk of the egg must show when it is “squashed”, then ride their horse to the gate end of the arena and receive their time.  Fastest time wins.

11.  Surprise Class ~ We can’t tell you, it’s a surprise for the riders! The riders will find out the rules for the class right before the class begins.
